BEFORE CARE
To ensure that your semi-permanent makeup is successful, please adhere to the following prior to your appointment

Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oils, vitamin E, niacin, or drink excessive alcohol 48-hours prior to and after your procedure.

Do not take any prescription blood thinners 48-hours prior to and after your procedure.

Discontinue any vitamin A skin care products (Retin-A, retinols) close to the enhancement area at least two weeks before your appointment. We recommend NOT using these products over or around the brow area after you receive Microblading. It could cause fading and distortion of hair strokes.

Discontinue use of AHA (chemical exfoliation) skin care products close to the brow area at least one week prior to your procedure.

No laser or electrolysis on or around the treatment area one week before your appointment.

Do not have any chemical peels, dermabrasions, mesotherapy, or any other intense treatments which will cause faster skin cell rejuvenating and cause skin irritation three to four weeks before procedure.

No Botox or fillers in the procedure area two weeks before.

If you regularly get your eyebrows shaped, waxed, threaded or tinted, please do so at least three days prior to your appointment.

Have NO caffeine on the day of your appointment.

If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure.

It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure.

When your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment from the new brows with it.

AFTER CARE
It is essential that you follow these instructions after your semi-permanent makeup session. Post-care instructions must be followed to ensure that your brows heal properly and you retain the pigment.

Day 1 (Day of treatment): Every hour (1 hour) after treatment, wash your hands, gently clean the area with a very small amount of water on a cotton pad, just barely damp, NOT wet (you should NOT be able to squeeze any water from your cotton pad). Do this every 1 hour on the day to avoid build-up of blood/lymph on the area. Don’t forget to clean right before you go to bed.

Day 2 (Morning after treatment): Clean your brows once in the morning and then leave them to completely dry heal. Avoid getting them wet for at least 2 weeks (especially when the brows are flaking)

Your eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle.

Days 1-4: The pigment will appear very sharp and dark. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin, and has not yet settled in completely. The brows may appear larger than desired, this is due to swelling. The hair-strokes WILL shrink with normal healing. The color of the pigment will soften  gradually. Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab, as this is excess pigment and/or body fluid that is naturally exiting your skin.

Days 5-7: Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes, scabbing, or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the pigment is fading too quickly, however, this is just superficial colour and dry skin being naturally removed from your eyebrows.

Days 8-12: Your brows may look as though the pigment has completely faded – do not panic – take a deep breath and trust the process.

Days 14-28: Your brows may still look a little patchy or uneven, but the pigment will start to “reappear” as the pigment settles and the healing continues. Any areas that do not reappear can be adjusted at your touch-up session. Once completely healed, always apply a layer of suncream SPF 30 up to SPF 50 on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure can cause the colour pigment to fade quickly.

The following must be avoided for 10 days post-microblading procedure:

  • Allowing any water to touch the brows! No shower stream over brows. Wash face CAREFULLY with a washcloth or cleansing wipes, avoid brow area. Clean your brows separately.

  • Sweating

  • Exercising

  • Practicing sports

  • Swimming

  • Hot sauna, hot bath, steamy hot showers, or Jacuzzi

  • Sun tanning or salon tanning

  • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic Acid on the face or neck

  • Picking, peeling, or scratching of the brow area. You will cause scarring of the area or removal of the

  • pigment if you pick or peel scabs prematurely.

  • Smoking

  • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds

  • Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles

  • Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care with a cotton swab

  • Do not use any cleansers or facial products of any kind, over the brow area for at least 10 days.

  • Absolutely do not use any ointments, antibiotic creams or gels, or vitamin creams over the brow area that can draw out the pigment.

Use a shower cap, to cover your brows while showering to avoid getting water on them.

Please note that itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post-microblading.

Remember to trust the process as it's all worth it!
